Hot day.

This morning when I woke up there was a cold breeze outside, so I dressed accordingly.
Well, it turns out it was a sunny, 26 degrees, hot day. I was melting in that outfit, since the tights are wool and UGGs are furry. (Yes I wear UGGs, love them, and can't really understand why they're so hated among fashion bloggers)
I should really start checking israelweather.co.il every morning.

ANYWAYS!

Tank: Pink Ice
Skirt: Forever21
Tights: My mom's
Fake UGGs: Nordstrom Rack
Scarf: The New Yorker
Necklace: Diva

Have an awesome week,
Love, Lotem.

Tagged.

For the first time, yay :)
I've been tagged by the very much lovliest Saray, from My Idea of Fashion.

5 things you can find in my bag:

1. An empty thermal cup. I take coffee with me to school every morning so it's always lying around in my bag.
2. The basics: wallet and keys.
3. Orbit Spearmint gum. Love it.
4. Eyeliner. I re-do my eye makeup like 3 times a day.
5. A cell phone. Jee, how original.

5 things you can find in my wallet:

1. Change.
2. My credit card. It's useless, really, I can only use it with ATMs cause I'm under 16.
3. Bus tickets. SAVE EARTH- TAKE A BUS.
4. תפילת הדרך. (The prayer of road? poor translation) it's a jewish blessing that is supposed to protect you wherever you go.
5. My studentID with a picture of me looking like a dumbass. Don't bother to click the picture haha.

5 favorite things in my room:
1. My laptop!
2. My closet, containing all my precious clothes.
3. My souvenir collection. Everywhere I go, I buy a souvenir and hang it on the wall.
4. My Drawer. It's The Drawer, meaning it's the drawer that contains all my un-important-but-not-to-be-dumped things.
5. My blanket. I love it. It makes me wanna soak in my bed for endless days and do nothing but cuddling inside it. It's a feather blanket, it's so nice and warm.

5 things I'm currently into:
1. Saying "awesome" on just about everything.
2. Drinking too much coffee.
3. Nike Dunk. Oh, how much I desire them. Gorgeous.
4. BOYS! But hey, I've been crazy for boys since the 1st grade.
5. Fashion! Clothes, runway shows, shopping, designers, and all the other fabulous things that revolve around it.

5 things about Saray, who tagged me:
1. She's an Israeli blogger, which already makes her like, extra awesome.
2. She has this thing for Betzalel Market in Tel Aviv, and she always finds great stuff. Everytime I go there I only find junk. Saray, teach me!
3. She's a friend of Carmel (that's a thing only she would understand ;) )
4. She has two adorable brothers, Omri Roie.
5. She can make make outfits work:

And I really have no idea who I wanna tag back, so...
If you're wearing pants right now, consider yourself tagged.
That sounds weird, I meant if you're wearing pants and not a skirt/dress.
Yes ok.

------------
Today was the Israeli Holocaust Memorial Day. I didn't think I should write about this in the blog, but as a (very proud) Jew, I figured the least I can to is to mention it.
RIP 6,000,000 Jewish People systematically murdered.
------------

That's a harsh finish for a post :P
Have a good weekend,
Love, Insomaniac Lotem.

US colors.

I don't know about you, but I was always fond with the matching of red and blue. They're contrast colors, but I still love how they look together.

Chanel, Marc by Marc Jacobs.
I love it how in the fashion show, Chanel had that US flag theme going on.

After seeing the pictures, I've had a craving for more navy blue items. I have plenty of red ones.
All the pictures are from Polyvore.com

I should really start going to sleep earlier. It's 1:30AM and I have a test tomorrow.

Love, Lotem.

Long post, just because I'm bored.

I haven't been updating the blog much in the past few days, having been a lazy-ass girl. I went to the beach yesterday, and I kind of regret I didn't take any pictures, because the beach in Israel is like a cult, it's awesome as hell.

Well Dressed Celebrities:

Ashlee's hooded sweater is AWESOME. It is a little weird and all, but I love it.
And Pete looks like a high school scene kid as usual.

I've always liked sequin dresses, and Gwyneth Platrow pulls it off pretty damn well.

I really didn't make up my mind about this one. It's sort of weird, yet it's so unique. (It's Eva Mendez, btw)

Nicole Kidman looks fabulous when pregnant. Then again, since she's my favorite actress, I doubt if I can say she doesn't look fabulous.

Ebay Cravings:

Nike Dunk Low. OMG I love them soo much!
I know, they're not very much classy but ugh, they're so damn beautiful. I saw them on Ebay and they're not very expensive, but I figured I might wait until I'm done with my current expenses and then order some Nike shoes.
If you want to see more awesome sneakers go on sneakerfreaker.com

This Chanel bag.
There are slim chances that it's authentic, since it's being sold at about $25, but then again the seller said that she got it from an estate sale in Beverly Hills, so you never know.
I think it's gorgeous. I'm probably not going to order it though...

Dior Glossy (!)
Ok, it's not like I can afford them any time soon. Unless I like, don't go out for a whole month and work twice as much as I do now. But hey, I can have dreams too.

BTW- If any of you want the URL for any of the items, let me know, I can send them to you.

Have a great weekend :)
Love, Lotem.

Colorsss.

I went shopping yesterday with my grandma (yay), and ended up with very colorful buys:
Horrible cell-phone quality, I don't have a camera here. Crap, I should really save up the money and get one of my own.

I got these to dresses. I'm not sure if I'm going to wear them with tights or not, they're really €short but I don't think they'd look as good with tights.
The left one is from Zara Kids, and is actually by far prettier than in the picture, and the left one is from TNT (an israeli store)

I got this bag from TNT too. It was really cheap and I liked the colors, so why not.
And the fact that my foot got in the frame really bothers me.

And finally I got this scarf and bangle from Top 10 (also an Israeli store).

Now I'm left broke.

Have a great day.
Love, Lotem.

The Carmel Forest

In the best of Israeli tradition, I went with my familia to a nice picnic in the Carmel forest, north Israel. We had a little barbeque and enjoyed the nice pastoral environment around. I love going to the nature every now and then, it gets you disconnected from reality for a bit. The food we had was delicious.
And even though it's not quite fashion related, here are some pictures:

This is the Lotem (Cistus, in English), the flower I am named after. It wasn't in its best of bloom, the color is usually more alive. I love it.

Jeez, what a myspace picture.

Have a great week,
Love, Cistus.

Apr 19, 2008

Yay, Passover!

I'm going to my grandparents' house for passover, and I might be staying there for a few more days.
It's a wonderful thing, my grandma is the BEST shopping companion.
So since she doesn't have an internet connection (you know, grandparents) I wouldn't be posting here for a few days.
That unless I can sort of hack my way to some neighbor's wireless :)

BTW,
I gave the block a new title and a new banner thingy.
And along with the new name comes a new URL.
I would really appreciate it if the people that have linked me could change the name and the URL :) thank you!

Have a great week,
וחג שמח

Balenciaga's Floral Spring Collection.

At first, I didn't go crazy for the whole florals thing, I thought it was kind of grandma-like. So when I looked at the Balenciaga Spring 2008 collection, I didn't very much fall for it.
But now, after I've started liking the trend and realize how vivid and springy it is, I took another look at the collection, and this time I really LOVED it.
Crap, those prints are downright awesome.

Have a floral day.
Love, Lotem.

Stress is over.

I'm done with that humongous test I had yesterday, that turned out to be far easier than I thought it would be.
And since we have spring break (well, technically, here it's passover break) in a few days and we're fully done with tests and projectss for the trimester, all the stress is pretty much over and I have more time to do things I love. Writing posts on this blog, for example.
So YAY!

Yesterday I went with a few friends to a shopping center after the test, and after having a nice breakfast together, I got these shoes:

The heel is taller than what it seems in the picture, and since I'm not used to these hieghts it would take me a while to handle them without looking like a "6-year-old trying on her mommy's heels" (my friend said that, I actually laughed).
Oh and, the color is actually navy blue, they look more black in the picture.

and to finish this post, here is what I wore for school today, inspired by...well, no one.

Tank: the supermarket
Jeans: Charlotte Russe
Sandals: Claire's
Scarf: Gap
Necklace: H&M
Ring: Diva

Have a great day,
Love, lotem.

Desert!

In Israel it's a tradition, well, rather a norm, that each year the whole grade in all schools go to a trip to a natural site, to walk in a quiet environment for a bit, and spend some time with friends and mama earth.
This year they took me and my 10th grade buddies to the Negev in israel, which is mostly one big ongoing desert. The trip was fun, we slept in huge tents all of us together and the walking wasn't as bad as you may imagine, but there is something about the desert that I just can't seem to like. You probably understand what I mean, it's just so dull.
Well, one way or another, I had a great time.

I've figured since none of you know Israel, I might as well stray a tad from fashion and post up some pictures (cell phone, sorry) from the trip. It is a gorgeous view, after all.

So, that is all.

I think I should be posting this blog more often.

Now, who looks dumber, me, or the camel? ;)

Sunshine.

I love Israel to death, I'm a true patriot, but if there's one thing I LOVE about this country is the fact that not matter what season is it or how's the weather like, we always have lots of sunshine.
Makes you happy.

Shirt: Pimkie
Jeans: store in LA called pimkie
Neckalce: Top 10 (israel)

I also wore black flipflops that didn't get in the frame.

Not dead, and back from Germany.

Well, honestly, I've been "back from Germany" since monday LAST week, but I've had a hectic week so I couldn't really find those 15 minutes to write down a post.

So what can I say? It was fabulous.
We've bonded really well with our German hosts, went to some kick-ass places (phantasialand anyone?), and of course I had a taste of the famous European shopping experience. It's actually famous for a reason, the stores there are amazing. I shopped mainly from H&M, which is just as amazing as I thought, Pimkie, a nice little store for teenaged girls like me, and New Yorker, which is awesome as hell.
I'm not sure if I should post EVERYTHING I bought here, but here's a few:

Click pictures.

On Saturday I went with a few friends to see Jumper.
It's a bit of a boring movie, one you won't remember after seeing just because it's not really good.
But hey, seeing that Hayden Christensen pimping around on the screem for 90 minutes along with amazing Rachel bilson was honestly not that bad.

And that's what I wore:

Do excuse my messy room, my over-make-up-ed eyes and my weird expression.
Strapless Shirt: Some store in Tel Aviv.
Jeans: Forever21.
Shoes: TOGO (israel)
Necklace: some store in my town
Bracelet: Diva

Well, I guess this is it.

Crap, I have a problem with self-planning, I told myself I would go to sleep early today so I won't be tired tomorrow and it's already 11PM.

Gooday.
Love, Lotem.

Purple for Peace.

(Yes, I know it's been a week since the last time I updated, it's been a hectic week)

In 2003 there was a breakdown in Darfur, Sudan (Africa). It has started when 2 rebel movemnts protested againts the oppression and the government. The president, in response, has sent the Sudan army, that wiped out villages and tribes all over Darfur. This goes on until today, fully supported by the Government of Sudan.
I joined a Facebook group called "Purple for Peace", saying people around the world should be wearing purple on March 14, which is today, to sympathize with Darfur citizens and and to show that this Genocide should be stopped. Since I trully do support this goal of healing Darfur (even though it's rather hard since I'm not sure what can I do), I did wear purple:

(You will have to settle for this poor cell phone image, my parents travelled off to London and left me camera-less)
Sweater Dress: TNT (israel)
Shoes: Fake Uggs, I forgot where I got them
Necklace: Top 10 (israel)

And off to a very different subject, I'm going to Germany this... Monday.
It's a type of student-exchange thing, So I will be staying at a German family's house. Since it's about my town's twin-town in Germany, which is Hagen. 19 students from my school will be staying at 19 families over there.
We're gonna travel around the area and do all sorts of stuff, which I hope will be fun.
And of course I'll get to see the inside of the European H&M (I have only been to the ones in the US which I know are not as good)
So....YAY!

Have a great weekend, Lotem.

Weekend.

So for the weekend I went with my familia to a cabin at a southern small town in Israel. It's supposed to be all pastoral and soothing, in a natural, quiet environment. It really was. There was a dining room there too, and the food was great.
It was a wonderful weekend. We went out to a dinner and in the morning went to a city nearby for all the attractions, and of course, in the best of Israeli tradition, we ended up going shopping at an outlet mall. (ביל"ו)

I got these:

Ignore my grandma sheets. YAY! color block tank!
I've been craving one for a while now.

I don't know how to call this garment.
It's either a really short dress or a relly long tunic.
And it has that sleeves thing going on. I like it.

And finally, I got this bracelt that was really cheap.

Thinking I got all these items for about 15$. Yay.

Have a great day,
Lotem.

Even though she's not my favorite Hilary.

My history with Hilary Duff goes way back, a long time before she lost a million pounds and became a "hiphop" musician of some sort. No, I liked Hilary Duff in her darkest times being Lizzy Mcguire. I loved that chubby blonde girl that played the eternal Girl Next Door, I liked her cute little pop songs about flowers and butterflies, and I liked the unbelievably cheesy movies that she constantly starred in. Of course I grew up and the little fan-mode has gone away.
But now I'm starting to realize how well she dresses these days. Her style is rather casual and not too exciting, but I really like it.

I absolutely love the dress on the right picture, I'm planning on getting a dress about this style. Perhaps from Zara?

Love the outfit on the right.

She kind of looks dead on the picture on the left.

And to those of you wondering who my favorite Hilary is, It's Hillary Clinton :)

Love, Lotem.

Pink dolphin.

I got him at the Santa Monica Pier for shooting a balloon popped. I love him, he's so pink and fluffy.

T-shirt: school uniform.
Jacket + Jeans + Sunglasses: Forever 21
Necklace + ring: Diva
Shoes: TOGO (israel)

I have the most stressing week, I have a huge math test in a week, a few quizes, 2 field trips, work, babysitting, a shitload of homework and numerous other things I need to get done.
I just need to go through it all without fliping out.
(Yes, I know, the troubles of a 15-year-old)

Shopping list

Rather a wishlist, I'm very poor these days haha :)

(I reccomend clicking the picture for best view of the itmes)
Items are from Polyvore.com.
I'm really inlove with the colorblock trend. It's so 80's, so vivid.
Crap, I just can't wait until spring officialy starts.

I'm going to work as a waitress tomorrow, for the very first time. I'm extremely nervous about it since I'm somewhat clumsy. I really hope nothing would break and that I won't be sued by the enf of my shift. Wish me luck?

Love, Lotem.

Feb 28, 2008

Presentation.

I had an English presentation due today. I've figured I might as well wear something that is somewhat safe and I've already worn but makes me feel comfortable and confident, which is very important when talking in front of a class.
Then again, I've always been good with talking. All kinds of talking.
P.S, I apologize for making you see my poorly-made nails. Cheap nail polish.

Tank(s): Come on, you know where to get those :)
Sweatshirt: School uniform
Skinny: Forever 21
Shoes: TOGO (israel)
Scarf: Gap
Necklace: Amuse

Gucci Spring 2008

I know I'm rather late, but I'm inlove with the Gucci Spring 2008 collection.

These colors are truly gorgeous. I also love the shoes. The collection makes me feel I don't have enough colors in my closet, I don't think it's versatile enough. I am definitely going to look for pink and yellow items, since this collection has really inspired me.

Beautiful dresses. I love the thing that's sticking out the right one, it makes it a-symmetrically cool. I also liked the pattern on the left one, it's really pretty.
I really want a mini-dress with an interesting pattern/print.

What can I say?
Gucci has finally captured my eye.

Love, Lotem.
